Assistant Accountant – Reporting

About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Accountant (Reporting) to join our Finance team in Gibraltar. This position offers a great entry point for candidates eager to start a professional accounting qualification while gaining hands‑on experience in reporting and finance administration.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and compilation of regular management and operational reports.
• Follow up with internal departments and external contacts to resolve outstanding queries and obtain required information.
• Maintain accurate records, listings, and supporting documentation.
• Organise and manage electronic filing systems, ensuring information is correctly stored and backed up.
• Perform data entry and reconciliation tasks with a high level of accuracy.
• Support month‑end and other periodic reporting processes.
• Provide ad‑hoc administrative and analytical assistance to the finance team as needed.

Required profile

• Strong interest in pursuing a career in accounting and finance.
• Willingness to study towards a recognised accounting qualification (AAT, ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent).
• Excellent organisational and administrative abilities with high attention to detail.
• Proactive, reliable and comfortable following up with colleagues to obtain information.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English; Spanish is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Competence with Microsoft Office applications.
• Familiarity with accounting systems and reporting tools.
• Experience handling large volumes of data and documentation.
