Data Platform Engineer

About the role

B2Spin is looking for a Data Platform Engineer to own and evolve the core infrastructure that powers its data analytics initiatives. You will work within the Business Intelligence team, ensuring that data pipelines, environments, and tooling are secure, reliable, and scalable.

Key responsibilities

• Provision and manage development, staging, and production data environments using Infrastructure as Code, eliminating drift.
• Design and enforce IAM policies, role‑based access controls, and secrets rotation for internal and external BI tools.
• Configure and maintain GitLab runners and CI/CD pipelines tailored for data engineering workflows.
• Implement observability frameworks to provide proactive alerts and fast root‑cause analysis.
• Audit resource utilisation, apply cost‑allocation tagging, optimise spend, and ensure disaster‑recovery readiness.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering, Core Infrastructure, and IT to unblock and accelerate delivery.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with IaC tools such as Terraform or Pulumi in a data platform context.
• Deep knowledge of cloud IAM, secrets management, and security hardening.
• Proven ability to operate and customise GitLab CI/CD pipelines for data workflows.
• Familiarity with modern data stack components like cloud warehouses (BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift) and BI platforms.
• Experience building observability and monitoring for data infrastructure.
• Track record of cloud cost governance and optimisation.
