Geotechnical/Civil Engineer

About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Chartered Geotechnical Engineer or a Civil Engineer with geotechnical experience to take technical responsibility for delivering geotechnical projects in Gibraltar. Reporting directly to senior management, the role is suited to a senior or principal level professional eager to lead assessments, design, and project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Lead geotechnical assessments and design for a variety of projects.
• Specify, manage, and supervise ground investigations and interpret data to develop ground models.
• Perform geotechnical analysis, numerical modelling, and produce detailed reports.
• Design foundations, retaining walls, and other geotechnical structures.
• Conduct slope stability, rock‑fall hazard, and protection measure assessments.
• Ensure compliance with Eurocodes and British Standards.

Required profile

• Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Geology, Geophysics, or Civil Engineering with a geotechnical specialism.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant geotechnical design experience.
• Chartered membership of an appropriate professional institution.
• Seismic/earthquake design experience.
• EU or UK citizenship, or ability to work in Gibraltar without a visa.
