Mobile Core Engineer – £50k in Gibraltar

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Mobile Core Engineer to join Ericsson’s team in Gibraltar (or nearby southern Spain). The role combines hands‑on engineering of Ericsson Mobile Core with operational responsibility, network optimisation and incident management.

Key responsibilities

• Operate, troubleshoot and optimise Ericsson MSS, IMS and UDC technologies across live 2G/4G/5G networks.
• Own network performance and service availability, leading incident resolution and coordinating with NOC and third‑party vendors.
• Drive upgrades, migrations and optimisation projects together with specialist vendors.

Required profile

• Recent, active experience with Ericsson Mobile Core, including MSS, IMS and UDC.
• Hands‑on knowledge of Ericsson nodes such as MSC‑S, M‑MGw, STP, CSCF, MTAS, SBC, BGF, HLR‑FE, AuC‑FE, MNP‑FE and HSS‑FE.
• Strong understanding of signalling protocols (SS7, ISUP, BICC, SIGTRAN, MAP, CAP, SIP/SDP, Diameter) and end‑to‑end call flows.
• Willingness to relocate to Gibraltar or nearby southern Spain.

• VoLTE roaming and SIP interconnections
• Network incident management, upgrades, migrations and optimisation
