Senior Applied Data Scientist / Engineer – Decision Intelligence

About the role

We are seeking a product‑focused senior applied data scientist or engineer who can transform raw operational data into decision‑making products that deliver measurable business impact for our customers. This role blends data science, engineering, and product ownership, requiring you to take ideas from concept through deployment and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end outcomes: evaluate ambiguous customer problems, decide if machine learning is appropriate, build solutions, and ensure customers act on them.
• Learn the domain: become fluent in the semantics of routes, crews, service histories, and other business concepts.
• Build required data: create missing features directly in Snowflake and dbt when they do not exist.
• Make value legible: design how predictions are presented so users trust and act on them, and report realized impact.
• Define and execute evaluation: set offline and online metrics, monitor drift, and run A/B tests or causal analyses.
• Ship and operate models: handle deployment, versioning, testing, monitoring, and drift detection as part of delivery.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to embed ML into real product workflows.

Required profile

• A strong ownership mindset measured by customer outcomes rather than model delivery.
• Preference for understanding data and business context over pure model tuning.
• Multi‑disciplinary operator who can chase down data, build pipelines, and ensure usability and trust.
• Experience shipping at least one production‑ready model.
