Staff Creative Design Lead

About the role

MrQ is looking for a senior design authority to own and evolve its visual language across all touch‑points. As the Staff Creative Design Lead you will set the creative standard, ensure disciplined processes, and act as the deputy for the Creative Director when needed.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute design for brand campaigns, assets, social, CRM, sponsorship activations and merchandise, establishing what “good” looks like for the team.
• Own, evolve and protect the MrQ design language – typography, layout, colour, illustration and visual codes.
• Take the most complex, high‑stakes briefs, delivering benchmark work while staying hands‑on.
• Implement and run working practices: briefing standards, feedback loops, file naming, version control, hand‑off and archiving.
• Maintain the design system, creating reusable components, templates and guidelines that are adopted because they work.
• Set and uphold quality standards, providing direct, constructive feedback.
• Represent the creative viewpoint in meetings and cross‑team discussions when the Creative Director is absent.
• Lead key design initiatives from concept through delivery and mentor the wider design team.

Required profile

• Several years of senior‑level design experience with a portfolio that demonstrates strong ideas executed with real craft.
• Ability to articulate the rationale behind every design decision.
• Digital‑first mindset with deep understanding of online platforms and user‑centric design.
• Proven experience building and maintaining design systems and brand guidelines.
• Strong collaborative skills and a track record of mentoring junior designers.
