Director of Operations

About the role

Orbital is seeking a Director of Operations to act as the deputy to the Chief Delivery & Trading Operations Officer. The role will own the end‑to‑end operating model across payment operations, customer services, integration support, and trading operations, ensuring the platform scales efficiently while maintaining resilience and excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the principal operational leader and deputy to the Chief, representing the function across the Group when required.
• Translate company and executive strategy into actionable operational execution.
• Provide a single senior point of coordination for Payment Operations, Customer Services & Integration Support, and Trading Operations.
• Design, document, and continuously improve the operating model, standards, SOPs, and performance frameworks.
• Identify systemic gaps, inefficiencies, and risks, and drive proactive remediation.
• Coach and develop functional team leads to accelerate their strategic autonomy.

Required profile

• Proven senior operational leadership experience, preferably in fintech or payments.
• Strong systemic thinking with a track record of designing scalable processes.
• Hands‑on coaching ability and experience developing high‑performing teams.
• Excellent judgment and ability to act independently on complex operational matters.
