Head of Underwriting Oversight

About the role

We are seeking a Head of Underwriting Oversight to lead the first‑line oversight of underwriting and pricing activities for our Gibraltar office. Reporting to senior management, you will ensure that the business is written to plan, stays within the approved risk appetite and delivers the expected customer outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee underwriting and pricing processes to guarantee alignment with business plans and risk appetite.
• Ensure pricing methodologies remain fit for purpose and support profitability.
• Monitor compliance with regulatory, governance and conduct standards in the UK and Gibraltar.
• Drive delivery of positive customer outcomes across motor and home insurance lines.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders, including Management, Executive and Board members, to provide insight and guidance.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in insurance underwriting and/or pricing.
• Strong knowledge of UK and/or Gibraltar regulatory frameworks.
• Good understanding of effective governance frameworks.
• Proven ability to manage senior stakeholders at Management, Executive and Board level.
