Maintenance Operative

About the role

The Eliott, Gibraltar’s premier hotel, is seeking a Maintenance Operative to ensure all facilities run safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards while minimizing guest disruption.

Key responsibilities

• Execute planned, reactive, and preventative maintenance across carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, and tiling.
• Oversee building safety, conduct fire drills, and enforce Health & Safety protocols.
• Respond promptly to guest and departmental maintenance requests, delivering high‑quality service.
• Identify energy‑management opportunities and educate staff on reducing waste.
• Complete daily, weekly, and monthly checklists, manage equipment supplies, and support other hotel departments during peak periods.

Required profile

• Previous maintenance experience in the hospitality sector is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of maintenance tasks, electrical work, and safe operation of hand and power tools; trade qualifications are a plus.
• Excellent interpersonal abilities, computer literacy, and flexible task management.
• Must hold a valid Right to Work in Gibraltar at the time of application.
