Head of Finance

About the role

GibMed International Hospital is seeking a qualified and commercially minded Head of Finance to lead its in‑house finance function at an important stage in the Group’s development. This is a hands‑on senior leadership role, combining strong financial control with commercial insight.

Key responsibilities

• Own monthly management accounts, year‑end readiness, reconciliations and the integrity of Group financial records and controls.
• Maintain robust cash‑flow forecasting, including a 13‑week cash forecast, and strengthen credit control, collections and working‑capital management.
• Lead annual budgets and rolling forecasts, providing clear variance analysis and decision‑focused management information.
• Lead the finance team across payables, receivables, billing controls, reconciliations, payroll coordination and routine reporting.
• Strengthen billing, credit‑control and revenue‑reconciliation processes for private patients, insurers, corporate clients and public‑sector contracts.
• Develop service, procedure and contract profitability analysis to inform pricing, capacity, investment and growth decisions.
• Improve finance systems, workflows, controls and automation, reducing manual work and strengthening data quality.
• Manage day‑to‑day relationships with auditors, advisers, banks, funders and other external partners.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualification with substantial post‑qualification experience.
• Proven experience leading and developing a hands‑on finance function in a growing or changing organisation.
• Strong technical accounting capability combined with sound commercial judgement.
• Ability to turn financial information into clear insight and practical action.
• Experience improving systems, processes and financial controls.
• Confidence working with senior leaders, Board members and non‑financial managers.
• Collaborative approach with the confidence to constructively challenge where needed.
• Right to work in Gibraltar or ability to secure the necessary permission.
