Biomedical Scientist – Haematology & Blood Transfusion (6‑month contract)

About the role

We are seeking a Biomedical Scientist to join our laboratory team in Gibraltar on a six‑month fixed‑term contract. The role involves working across haematology, blood transfusion and coagulation services, delivering accurate patient and donor results.

Key responsibilities

• Perform blood grouping, antibody screening and cross‑matching.
• Analyse haematology samples and assess blood film morphology.
• Carry out coagulation testing and interpret results.
• Validate and authorise patient and donor laboratory reports.

Required profile

• Previous experience in haematology and blood film morphology.
• Recent experience in blood transfusion services.
• Experience in coagulation testing.
• Familiarity with Sysmex XN1000 or XN2000 analysers (desirable).
