First Line Senior Risk Manager

About the role

Gibraltar International Bank is seeking an experienced First Line Senior Risk Manager to strengthen risk management, governance, and control frameworks across its Corporate Banking division. This role will act as a key liaison between the First and Second Lines of Defence, ensuring effective oversight of AML, KYC, customer onboarding, credit risk, reputational risk, and regulatory compliance activities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and enhance the First Line Risk Framework and control environment.
• Monitor and oversee AML/KYC reviews, customer onboarding, and credit renewals.
• Produce and present monthly risk reporting to governance committees.
• Drive risk awareness and embed a strong risk culture through training and engagement.
• Partner with business and compliance teams to ensure regulatory readiness and effective remediation of risk issues.
• Provide oversight of higher‑risk customer segments, including gaming and intermediary relationships.

Required profile

• Relevant banking experience, ideally within the Corporate Banking environment.
• Strong understanding of risk management frameworks, governance, and regulatory obligations.
• Experience in AML/KYC, credit risk, and risk oversight.
• Professional qualifications such as ICA, ACAMS, or equivalent are advantageous.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.
