Head of Finance Operations

About the role

As Head of Finance Operations you will lead the end‑to‑end redesign of the finance control function for a multi‑billion‑dollar global business operating in over 200 markets. Reporting to the Group Finance Director and based in Gibraltar, you will own the change agenda across people, processes, systems and controls to deliver step‑change improvements in quality, efficiency and governance.

Key responsibilities

• Set the multi‑year finance transformation strategy and roadmap in partnership with the Group Finance Director.
• Lead a portfolio of global finance transformation programmes from inception to benefits realisation across multiple entities and jurisdictions.
• Establish governance and KPIs to measure transformation outcomes and report progress to the Group CFO.
• Diagnose current‑state processes and identify opportunities to streamline, standardise, automate and eliminate non‑value‑add activity.
• Redesign core finance processes – Procure‑to‑Pay, Order‑to‑Cash, Record‑to‑Report, Payroll, and planning & reporting.
• Partner with the Financial Systems team to deliver the target‑state finance systems architecture and drive system upgrades, implementations and integrations.
• Develop and execute the finance function’s AI and intelligent automation strategy, prioritising use cases such as reconciliations, close, forecasting, invoice processing and data extraction.
• Elevate finance reporting and analytics capability, modernising dashboards and enabling self‑service predictive decision support.
• Support finance workstreams on M&A activity from diligence through post‑merger integration.
• Own the change management agenda – communications, training and adoption – across a globally distributed finance team.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading finance transformation programmes across multiple entities and jurisdictions.
• Strong background in finance controls, governance, balance‑sheet integrity and intercompany processes.
• Demonstrated ability to drive AI and intelligent automation initiatives within finance.
• Experience partnering with finance systems teams to define and implement target‑state architecture.
• Track record of managing large‑scale change programmes and stakeholder communication.
