About the role
We are seeking a senior professional to lead our Financial Crime Prevention function and act as the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) for a growing banking operation in Gibraltar. The role is fully onsite and requires approval from the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission (GFSC).
Key responsibilities
- Obtain GFSC approval to act as the bank’s MLRO and maintain regulatory compliance.
- Manage and resource the Financial Crime Prevention team, allocating workload to meet internal SLAs.
- Develop and maintain department procedures, records, and reporting for AML, CFT, fraud and proliferation financing.
- Test, tune and calibrate rule sets and thresholds for transaction monitoring systems.
- Provide management information and risk analysis for new products, services and jurisdictions.
- Oversee the preparation and submission of mandatory and supplementary regulatory reports.
Required profile
- Significant experience in banking or financial services with deep knowledge of AML, CFT and related regulations, especially GFSC requirements.
- Proven ability to lead a financial crime team and drive competency, quality assurance and staff development.
- Strong analytical mindset with experience analysing data, trends and risk indicators.
- Ability to work independently and provide oversight on financial crime prevention.
