Financial Accountant – Gibraltar based

About the role

AIGL, the largest entity within the Admiral Group, is expanding its Finance team in Gibraltar and seeks a Financial Accountant. The role is fully based in Gibraltar (or Southern Spain) and reports to the Financial Reporting Manager, covering all aspects of the finance function.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with technical insurance accounting in line with IFRS.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and internal reporting for the parent company.
• Lead the relationship with an intermediary services provider.
• Produce regular management information and reports for internal boards, committees and external stakeholders.
• Maintain monthly control‑account reconciliations.
• Prepare year‑end statutory accounts and support the external audit process.
• Submit ad‑hoc regulatory returns and liaise with UK Finance teams.
• Provide general finance support and handle ad‑hoc tasks as required.

Required profile

• Current residence in Gibraltar or Spain.
• Qualified with a recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
• Strong understanding of financial controls.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently.
• Proven capability to influence senior stakeholders and provide constructive challenge.

Required skills

• IFRS knowledge.
• Insurance accounting experience.
• Financial controls expertise.
