Accounts Assistant – Client Money Administration

About the role

The Accounts Assistant will support the delivery of high‑quality accounting services for our client, ensuring compliance with Gibraltar client‑money rules and internal controls. The role focuses on client‑money administration, payments, reconciliations and related compliance tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Post and allocate receipts and transfers to client and office accounts, applying authorisation controls.
• Batch payments, liaise with authorisers and perform four‑eyes checks on payment instructions.
• Complete daily and monthly bank reconciliations for office and client accounts in line with client‑money regulations.
• Support AML/KYC compliance on receipts using third‑party screening tools.
• Raise queries and communicate with clients and staff via email, letter or phone.
• Assist external auditors and client accountants with audit and reporting requests.

Required profile

• Minimum five GCSEs (A–C) or equivalent, including Maths and English.
• Knowledge of accounting principles, reconciliations, ledger coding and payroll procedures.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
• Client‑oriented approach with high attention to detail and confidentiality.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
• Experience using Microsoft Office suite.
• Familiarity with ERP accounting systems.
