Engineering Manager, AI CI/CD

About the role

Chainguard is building the next generation of software supply‑chain security products at the intersection of security and AI. We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead a fast‑moving team delivering tools such as Guardener, hardened GitHub Actions, Chainguard Agent Skills, and new microVM‑based products.

Key responsibilities

• Own a portfolio of products end‑to‑end, from roadmap through implementation, rollout, and iteration.
• Hire, lead, and grow a small team of strong engineers, removing blockers and creating conditions for high performance.
• Stay technically hands‑on by reviewing designs and PRs, prototyping when needed, and ensuring quality and reliability.
• Partner closely with Product to set realistic roadmaps, prioritize trade‑offs, and ship iteratively.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience managing engineers with a passion for team growth.
• Proven track record of shipping products or major features and owning results.
• Comfort with autonomy, ambiguity, and a bias for action.
• Strong communication and collaborative skills working with Product and customers.

Required skills

• Strong technical background; ability to read code, review designs, and reason about architecture.
• Proficiency with Go or ability to ramp quickly.
• Experience building CI/CD systems, developer tooling, or product‑facing platforms.
• Familiarity with containers, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with AI tooling and enthusiasm for applying it to complex customer problems.
