Waterfront Operations Manager

About the role

Mitie is seeking a Waterfront Operations Manager to lead safe, effective and compliant waterfront support services across the HM Naval Base Gibraltar estate. You will coordinate specialist service delivery for visiting vessels and submarines, working closely with military and civilian stakeholders in a highly regulated environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead delivery of waterfront operational and support services, acting as the primary point of contact.
• Plan and execute visiting vessel and submarine activities, including nuclear‑powered warship visits.
• Manage operational teams, resources, on‑call arrangements and ground fixed equipment logistics.
• Ensure contractual KPIs, compliance requirements and operational standards are met.
• Maintain compliance with Defence logistics processes, asset controls, audit requirements and asbestos/water‑hygiene programmes.
• Drive a strong health, safety and environmental culture.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading operational teams in complex, regulated environments.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience managing health, safety and operational compliance.
• Ability to coordinate multiple priorities in a fast‑moving operational setting.

• Ground Fixed Equipment (GFE) management

• Experience with CAFM systems
