Accounts Assistant

About the role

The Accounts Assistant will support the delivery of high‑quality accounting services and provide cross‑cover for colleagues when needed. This role involves day‑to‑day administration and a range of accounting procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with office and client account reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable and finance day‑end activities.
• Maintain purchase ledger, fixed asset register, depreciation schedules and petty cash processing.
• Prepare, check and post banking transfers, and use Excel, databases and accounting/practice management systems.
• Raise queries and liaise with clients, suppliers and staff via email, letter or phone.
• Recommend improvements to processes and provide ad‑hoc project support.

Required profile

• Knowledge of accounting principles, reconciliation, coding structures and payroll procedures.
• Excellent MS Office skills, especially Excel and Outlook.
• Ability to build positive relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.
