Financial Controller & Regulatory Reporting Officer - Gibraltar
arq · Gibraltar
Job description
About the role
ARQ, a growing fintech, is looking for a Financial Controller and Regulatory Reporting Officer for its Gibraltar office. Reporting to the Group Controller, the role is hands-on and broad: you will be the primary finance lead for Gibraltar's P&L, balance sheet and regulatory reporting under DLT license to the FSC, and also oversee the financial operations of ARQ UK, a cost centre within the group, including the reconciliation of ARQ Globals' financial and ledger accounts.
Key responsibilities
- Own the month-end close for Gibraltar, producing timely and accurate financial statements under IFRS, and review the P&L, balance sheet and cash flow monthly
- Maintain the chart of accounts, manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations in line with the Transfer Pricing Policy, and support statutory accounts and external auditors
- Ensure compliance with Gibraltar Company regulatory reporting requirements
- Oversee ARQ UK as a cost centre: monthly cost review, variance analysis, allocation and accrual of costs, and monitoring of budgets versus actuals
- Contribute to annual budgeting, prepare rolling forecasts, develop financial models and scenario plans
- Design and maintain internal controls, coordinate with the outsourced accounting provider, and ensure accurate tax calculations and payments
- Monitor compliance with Gibraltar and UK regulatory requirements and escalate risks to the Group Controller
Required profile
- Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- 5+ years of experience in financial control, accounting or audit roles
- Proven track record of owning month-end close and preparing statutory-quality statements
- Experience with regulated financial services entities
- Nice to have: multi-entity accounting experience, Gibraltar/UK regulatory reporting experience, and ERP experience (NetSuite, SAP or similar)
Required skills
- Strong knowledge of IFRS or UK GAAP
- Advanced Excel or Google Sheets, comfortable with complex financial models and SQL
- Ability to work independently in a lean team
