Procurement & Tendering Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Procurement & Tendering Manager to lead procurement and tendering activities for a high‑profile defence contract in Gibraltar. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will oversee supplier management, tender governance and support contract delivery while managing a small procurement team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day operation of the procurement function and manage purchase orders, cash book reporting and supplier payments.
• Oversee tendering, RFQ and supplier selection processes, ensuring robust governance.
• Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships, performance management and compliance.
• Provide procurement advice to project teams and monitor supplier performance to reduce commercial risk.
• Act as liaison for procurement systems, P2P processes and customs procedures for imported materials.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing procurement and tendering processes.
• Strong supplier and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Effective leadership and people‑management skills.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Commercial awareness with focus on risk management and continuous improvement.

Required skills

• Knowledge of construction methods and quantity surveying procedures (desirable).
• MCIPS Level 3 qualification or working towards a professional procurement certification (desirable).
• IOSH Managing Safely qualification (desirable).
